A Case of Chronic Ulcerative (Nongraulomatous) Ileitis, Idiopatic, and Review of Literature

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of chronic ulcerative (nongranulomatous) ileitis, idiopathic was reported.
The patient was a 33 uear old Korean female who complained of intermittent abdominal pain, abdomi
nal distention, vomiting and borboygmi. On physical examination, generalized abdominal tenderness,
moderate abdominal distention, increased bowel sounds, slightly visible peristalsis were noted and
otherwise were normal.
The films of flat and upright abdomen showed gaseous distention and fluid level of small bowel.
Operation was done under the impression of intestinal obstruction and the pathological diagnosis was
chronic ulcerative (nongranulomatous) ileitis, idiopathic.
A brief review of the literature was made.
